What does Al-Muizz mean?
Al-Muizz is one of the 99 Names of Allah, meaning "The Bestower of Honour," "The Giver of Might". It affirms that all honour, dignity, strength, and elevation come from Allah alone. He raises whom He wills, granting them status and might — and the honour He gives no one can take away. It is most often understood together with its counterpart, Al-Muzill (the One who abases).
The Meaning in Depth
True honour (izzah) is not in wealth, lineage, or power, but in nearness to Al-Muizz. He has honoured humanity with the gift of reason, dignified the believers with faith, and elevates the obedient in this world and the next. Whoever seeks honour from other than Him is humbled; whoever seeks it with Him is raised. The Quran declares: "You give honour to whom You will and You abase whom You will. In Your hand is all good" (3:26).
